The team are now visting five schools on a weekly basis and our numbers are increasing every week. We provide after school activities which include sporty games such as hockey, dodge ball and cricket. There are circle games, kite flying and sometimes painting and drawing. It’s a pleasure to work with so many children around the borough and see how happy and well behaved they are. Through the play sessions we teach the children how to take turns when playing games and the importance of sharing and caring for each other as well as giving them opportunities to take part and have fun.
Sometimes to onlookers it seems like organised chaos however the children are taking part in activities that they would not normally do and they are having fun and learning through their experiences in a safe and supervised environment.
When out and about we encourage the children to take part in litter picks in their recreation areas and encourage them to take pride in their play areas.
